Hello, I am Grandma Anita and this is my blog.
Let me tell you a bit about myself and why I have this blog.
I work in retail at a large home improvement store "full-time." As most of you may know, being in retail means changing schedules with mandatory weekends and most holidays. At my Store, we do get one weekend off a month which consists of Saturday and Sunday. We are all so happy to get our one weekend, however, we do pay a price for it. Usually the Friday before our two day weekend, we are scheduled to work the evening shift which means we do not get off work until eleven pm at night. this makes us need to sleep as late as we can before getting up to start our weekend. So we have our Saturday and then comes our Sunday. Sunday starts great but has to end much too soon as on Monday when we go back to work, we have been scheduled to work at six am, meaning we need to get to bed early Sunday to get enough rest to start the new week. Noe that we are back at work, it seems as if we are being punished for the weekend off because we are now scheduled to work the next seven or eight days straight before we get a one day off then work another three days to get another one day off and then work yet another four days before we get a much needed two days off together.
Like I said, I work at my job full time. And this makes me a very sad "part-time" Grandma.
I am the Grandmother of Nathan, Libby and Jace who live in Texas, Joshua, Daniel, Manuel and Frank who live in Arizona and Marc who lives in Louisiana. (to be continued)
UPDATE:
As of July 22, 2017, there is a new addition to my list of grandchildren. My daughter had her first child, Eli Austin.
Although I no longer am able to work at the store due to back issues, I also do not get to see all my grandchildren as I would like. Yes, I have the time now but not the funds to travel. Seems there is always something, doesn't it? Well, that is going to change.
